Light House: Finding Home

We partner with the Light House to provide monthly meals and have a large food drive every September along with additional collections of various needed items at other times of the year. Our congregation has four groups of people who donate their time and resources each month in order to shop for, cook and serve dinner at the Light House shelter each month. Led by Miss Good, our youth provides this service as well. Each year, the collection of their most needed pantry items is delivered in September. When other needs arise, our community will collect more items to be distributed at the Light House. In addition to their assistance with housing and career counseling, one can find out more about their comprehensive services on their website annapolislighthouse.org.

A person named Eric relates his story as an example of how the Light House helped him in his life.

  • “I’m so grateful she told me to call The Light House, because otherwise I don’t know what I would have done." At The Light House, Eric found a path to a brighter future. He soon moved into The Light House Emergency Residential Program and was provided with a safe place to sleep, food, and other vital wraparound care. With the help of his Light House Client Advocate, Eric was able to coordinate medical care, secure benefits, and better address the root causes of his addiction. During his time at The Light House, Eric was able to set aside emergency savings and build up enough to cover first months rent and a security deposit.Thankfully, a friend told him to reach out to The Light House. We are happy to report that after years of struggling with homelessness, Eric recently moved into his very own apartment and is excited to start planning for a brighter future.
